He works closely with both clients and engagement teams to resolve technical accounting, auditing, and financial reporting issues. Mike has extensive experience resolving issues relating to initial public offerings (IPOs), debt and equity financings, variable interest entities, and other complex transactions. He reviews registration statements, private offering documents, and periodic Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC requirements. Mike has authored and presented numerous technical training courses on GAAP, generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), and SEC-related subjects within BDO, as well as to external audiences Prior to becoming a Regional Technical Director, Mike served as engagement partner on many large public, private and international engagements, primarily in the technology industry.
